Sylvia has been in the business for 35 years and is a fellow of BIFA. After many years of success with Jardine Mathieson, Sylvia, decided to go it alone and hence Extrordinair was born on the 1st of April 1988. Her aim was to be the best and due to her drive we were the first privately owned company to be approved to operate a Border Inspection Post for small animals, we were also one of the first in line to achieve Listed Agent Status and AEO accreditation. If you were to ask Sylvia what the most important thing in business is her reply would be customer service and honesty. Not only is the company her very important baby, she also owns 3 beautiful horses and three very cheeky and bouncy dogs, Rannoch, Rogan and Rui!

Derek has over 35 years experience in the industry and he has worked with Extrordinair for 10 years now. The rest of the staff sometimes worry about Derek when he bursts into a sing song but normality soon comes back around! Derek’s speciality is exporting live animals from small pets up to Hippopotamuses. He has a wealth of knowledge in all areas and is a great asset to the business.

Helen has been with Extrordinair for 21 years. She looks after the accounts as well as operations, Having worked with Sylvia for such a long time she knows exactly what is required and makes sure things are done as they should be. However, Helen does stop her busy schedule to squeeze in a hug now and again! She is a key member of our team, she is our mother hen!
Carol McNaughton –
Carol joined the team in April 2017 to be part of the operations department, Carol processes all general imports and completes customs clearances when and if required. She has over 30 years experience in the freight forwarding industry.
Carol has a lovely mixed breed dog named Dixie which she rescued over a year ago from the dog trust shelter in West Calder.
Lori McVittie –
Lori joined the team in July 2015. Lori is employed within the Border Inspection Post and is the first to meet all our animal arrivals, on arrival she removes them from their transport cases gives them food and water, then checks all the relevant paperwork to ensure they are compliant with the regulations to enter the UK. She has two dogs Storm and Luke.
Valentinas Sulkevicius –
Valentinas joined the team in September after moving to Edinburgh from Aberdeen. He is originally from Lithuania where he was a professional football player. He has a Masters Degree in Business and Marketing and it would seem he is the brains of the office.
Avril Wilson – email@example.com
Avril joined the operations department in April 2018, she will be working with the team in the operations department. She has some previous experience within the logistics business and has also attended Aberdeen University.
Jenny joined the Extrordinair team in November 2016, she is currently learning the ropes of the operations and accounts department.
Jenny has 2 Russian Dwarf hamsters called Salt and Pepper.
Simon joined the Extrordinair team in February 2016. He will oversee our SeMS programme and ensure that all the systems we operate are working as they should. He is also one of our Air Cargo Security Training Instructors.
Malcolm is our office’s big pussy cat! At the end of 2013, Malcolm started to work part time. He now helps out with some of the operational work and is our auditor. It is still strange not having him about the office everyday! He has a wealth of experience in freight forwarding from Airline Handling to Freight Forwarding he offers us great support.
